IAAM Cross Country Championships

It was an exciting day at Oregon Ridge Park Wednesday with 25 teams looking for a championship, as the IAAM Cross Country season came to its conclusion with Notre Dame Prep walking away victorious.

Out of 152 racers, the Notre Dame team had their top five runners—Liz Schivone, Kate Dunseith, Laura Slaughter, Julianna Rubino, Nicole Troiani—finish in the top 12 to claim the A Conference Championship. They managed to hold off John Carroll High School who had three players finish in the top 10; including first place finisher Elizabeth Tauber, who finished 22 seconds ahead of the field with a time of 19:26.

McDonogh, Maryvale Prep, and Mercy rounded out the top five teams in the A Conference respectively.

The B Conference Championship was awarded to Severn High School as Kendall Farnham led all racers in the B Division, with a time of 20:23, to guide her team to victory. Severn was followed by the Institute of Notre Dame, St. Marys, Seton Keough, and Roland Park Country School to complete the top five places in the B conference team championship.

After the championship, the remaining 270 racers competed in an open meet. Sarah Sebastian of Notre Dame Prep finished first with a time of 21:37, as five of her teammates followed closely, all finishing in the top 10.
