SOCCER

McDonogh and Archbishop Spalding are fighting it out for the top spot in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference heading into the tournament.

Spalding is guaranteed at least the No. 2 spot with the last few games remaining; the Cavaliers locked up that position earlier in this week.

St. Paul's appears to have first place sealed in the B Conference in the final days of the regular season.

The Annapolis Area Christian School improved to 15-0 with an easy 4-0 victory over Mount Carmel and will be the top seed in the upcoming C Conference tournament.

The Eagles are the defending conference champions and remain perfect this season. The conference tournaments are scheduled to start next Friday with the title games set for Sunday, Nov. 2.

VOLLEYBALL

St. Paul's is trying to both keep up its perfect season and wrap up the IAAM A Conference team championship – something that will test the school in the season's final days.

Up next for St. Paul's will be a non-conference road match-up against Towson on Monday. Mount de Sales also plays out of conference early in the week, hosting Wilde Lake on Tuesday.

Another tough match will be for B Conference leader Mercy against McDonogh, which is in the middle of the A Conference standings. That is set for Wednesday at McDonogh.

The conference tournament then is scheduled to begin late next week.

TENNIS

The fall individual championships are set to begin Monday at McDonogh. This tournament is scheduled to run through Thursday, depending upon the weather.

This is just for the girls as the boys' tennis competition takes place. Bad weather would likely force it to be moved to indoor tennis clubs in the Northwest Baltimore area near the schools like McDonogh and St. Paul's.

Bryn Mawr and Roland Park finished their team season last week and will share the IAAM A Conference title. Roland Park also split last year's team title.

CROSS COUNTRY

The IAAM Championship meet is coming up on Oct. 29 at Oregon Ridge Park in Towson. There will be A and B Conference team champions crowned.
