MIAA Week In Review: 10/6-10/9

Boys' Soccer

Calvert Hall 2, Loyola 1 OT (Thursday)

Zach Wenger scored the winning goal in overtime for Calvert Hall as the Cardinals sneaked by Loyola in an MIAA A Conference game. Pete Caringi scored the other Calvert Hall goal. Jimmy Deasal got Loyola s lone goal and was assisted by Pat Doyle. Calvert Hall moved to 4-3-3 in the A Conference and 5-3-3 overall. Loyola dropped to 2-6-2 overall and the league.

John Carroll 1, St. Paul's 0 (Wednesday)

John Carroll's Pat Maher scored a first-half goal, assisted by Matt Pramuan, which was just enough to earn the MIAA A Conference victory. The Patriots improved to 7-4-0 overall and 5-4-0 in the conference, while St. Paul's dropped to 2-8-2 overall and 1-7-2 in the conference.

Annapolis Area Christian School 1, Friends 1 2OT (Tuesday)

AACS and Friends each scored one second-half goal, but two overtimes couldn't resolve this MIAA B Conference game. Marrio Davis scored the Friends goal.

Gilman 2, Calvert Hall 1 (Tuesday)

Goals by Ben Shriver and Diego McQuestion lifted Gilman to a victory over rival Calvert Hall in a MIAA A Conference game. Yianni Sarioglou scored the Calvert Hall goal, with an Alex Bullington assist. Gilman's Greg McBride added an assist. Nial Krach made seven saves for Calvert Hall, while Gilman's Christian Hall had five stops.

McDonogh 5, Loyola 0 (Tuesday)

Jeremy Kirkwood (two goals, one assist), Marquez Fernandez (one goal, one assist), Julian Griggs (one goal), Alex Grassi (one goal), Joe Vidmar (one assist), Mamadou Kansaye (one assist) and Kyle DeVinney (one assist) all led McDonogh to an easy MIAA A Conference victory over Loyola.
