300 Wins for Doug DuVall

He says his 34th season will be his last, and Doug DuVall's football players at Wilde Lake High in Columbia are determined to make it a season to remember. DuVall, who began coaching at Wilde Lake in 1974, won his 300th game last week as the Wildecats beat Marriott's Ridge, 7-6. Wilde Lake is 4-0 heading into Friday's game against Atholton.

DuVall's resume includes five state championships, and he has coached some of the best players ever to come out of the area, including former Oriole Jim Traber, who quarterbacked the Wildecats in the late 1970s before playing quarterback at Oklahoma State; Jack Bradford, who played at Maryland; and Dane Randolph, a senior offensive tackle starting for the Terps. DuVall has also been active in the Maryland State Football Coaches Association and the Baltimore Touchdown Club and has been a huge advocate for area football for more than 30 years.
