Beth Tfiloh Volleyball Defeats Oldfields 3-0

On a night where the rain threatened to drive teams away from the field, the Beth Tfiloh girls’ volleyball team travelled to Oldfields and created a storm of their own. The Warriors won in three straight games 25-12, 25-20 and 25-8, in a match that ended as quickly as it had started.

“In the first game, we did everything right and more,” said Beth Tfiloh Coach Sonya Howell. “Our passes were great and we attacked more. We did everything we wanted to do.”

Oldfields had their chances in the third game, but an overwhelming amount of unforced errors kept them from mounting a comeback. Oldfields (0-6) looks to get their first win of the season when they travel to Catholic High next Wednesday. Beth Tfiloh (9-3) will have to wait a week and a half to see action again when Glenelg Country School visits them on Monday Oct. 6.

“We are getting better as a team and playing better as a unit,” said Howell. “We need to work better on covering the net so other teams can’t dink on us. We will be where we need to be by the time playoffs come.”
