Thompson To Bring Arm To Towson

Archbishop Curley graduate Sean Thompson recently signed a national letter of intent to attend Towson University to play baseball next spring.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Thompson compiled an 8-1 record and 1.91 ERA on the mound this spring for the Friars, giving up 51 hits and 22 walks in 66 innings. He played a major role in Curley's pitching this spring.

In addition, Thompson also played first base, batting .305 with eight home runs, 26 RBIs and 21 runs.

Thompson was a Baltimore Sun second team All-Metro selection this spring and led the Friars to a 21-8 record and the Sun's No. 5 ranking in its final poll.

This was the second straight season in which Thompson earned second team All-Metro honors.

Thompson was also the Most Valuable Pitcher for the North in the Brooks Robinson All-Star Game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in June.
