The McDonogh girls track team took second in the 16-team Loyola Track Invitational last weekend.
The Eagles finished with 83 points, seven behind winner North Carroll, while fellow Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference school Mount de Sales took third with 59 points.
The Eagles earned 16 points in the 100 where Amanda Kimbers (11.90) and Jazmine Robinson (12.50) took first and third, respectively. Kristen Brown used a time of 14.70 to win the 100 hurdles, while teammate Nyerre Osiomwan used a jump of 33 feet, 11 inches to win the triple jump.
McDonogh's 400 relay team won in a time of 49.4 seconds, and the 1,600 relay team finished strong as well, taking home second place with a time of 4:12.25, finishing four-hundredths of a second behind C.H. Flowers.
Brown took third in the long jump with a jump of 16-8 as Osiomwan used a jump of 15-6 take fifth.
Mount de Sales also had high scores in the hurdles with three runners placing in the top six.
Laura Prindeze and Abby Wittdstadt each finished in 17.90, but third place was awarded to Prindeze. Shannon Wright finished sixth in a time of 18.40. Lindsay Pisanic used a vault of 7-6 to finish second in the pole vault.
All the Sailors relay teams scored points, but the 800 relay team had the best finish by earning second place with a time of 1:55.6. The 3,200 relay team used a time of 10:21.2 to finish third, while the 400 relay also finished third in 54.7. The 1600 relay team took fourth in 4:21.9.
John Carroll’s Erika Stasakova won the 3,200 (11:22.0) which was more than enough to beat Maryvale Prep’s Rachel Nerenberg, who finished second with a time of 11:59.0.
