Seton Keough Starts 7-0

Annapolis Area Christian School, Seton Keough, and Towson Catholic all are playing well in the first weeks of the season.

Seton Keough has had the best season among these three teams and is one of the area’s top teams overall, going undefeated in both Interscholastic Athetic Association of Maryland X Division games (7-0) and tournament games. The Gators have been scoring an average of 62 points per league game in wins against some of the IAAM’s toughest teams including Mercy (50-34), Towson Catholic (49-38), and Mount de Sales (66-18).

After that, Seton Keough continued its winning streak at the Sandra Meadows Classic in down in Dallas, Texas, winning games against Texas schools such as Duncanville (61-45), Bishop Lynch (40-37) and Palo Duro (56-32).

But the local victories helped Seton Keough take first place in the X division.

Towson Catholic is currently in third place in the X division with a 7-2 overall record and a 4-2 conference games record.

The Owls won their first four games of the season, getting victories against John Carroll, Roland Park, Institute of Notre Dame, and St. Mary’s before losing to Mercy.

After losing to Seton Keough, the Owls won big against Notre Dame Prep and a non-conference game against Woodlawn from Baltimore County. But like Seton Keough, Towson Catholic fared well away from the area.

Towson Catholic beat Christiana (Del.) by a score of 73-49 in its first round game in the Diamond State Classic in Wilmington, Del.

Annapolis Area Christian School is 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Interscholastic Athletic Associaton of Maryland C Conference’s X Division. AACS started off the season with a 69-13 rout of Washington Christian Academy.

The Eagles stumbled in their second and third games with losses to Chapelgate Christian and St. Timothy’s. However, AACS bounced back with three wins in a row -- beating Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Oldfields and the Key School.
