After a tough loss to Friends, Chapelgate rebounded with a 56-54 come from behind victory over Washington Christian.
Chapelgate fell behind 30-18 at the end of the first half on poor shooting and turnovers. The second half proved different however, as the Yellow Jackets produced offensively and turned up the defensive pressure.
Chapelgate cut the lead to 41-34 at the end of three, and tied the score at 54 with 20 seconds to play. They were led offensively by Aaron McCall (22 points), Ji-Min Jeong (12 points) and Taylor McCall (12 points).
Michael Lovaas led the swarming defense with 8 steals and Sam Bianconi and Sam Orlando each contributed 8 rebounds.
Washington Christian had the ball and were looking for the last shot. However, Jeong came up with one of his 4 steals and passed the ball to McCall for a lay-up, the lead, and the ultimate victory.
Chapelgate is now 6-4 heading into their first league game on Thursday against Key.
